美容師の小関由香です。
私が美容の仕事に携わって
はや、30年が経ちます。
高校卒業後、大阪の美容学校とご縁があり
その後、大阪で就職
バブルの頃私は大阪で修行してました。
とても厳しくハードな時代で
練習量も半端なく
遊ぶ暇もない。
だからこそ、今があると思える
私にとって1番頑張ったと言える月日が思い出されます。
環境にも恵まれ、
就職してその年の冬
カットの勉強でロンドンへ
初めての海外旅行（笑）
ヴィダルサスーンアカデミーへの短期スクールへ
引率の美容室の先生が2人いて、ヴィダルサスーンの学校への留学されていた方でしたので、通訳もしてくれて、安心してカット講習を受けることができました〜
学校では、実施もあり、現地の方をサロンでカットしました。カタコトの英語で（笑）
海外の方は優しくゆっくりわかりやすい英語で〜
とても素敵な体験をしている事をあらためて、今書きながら思ってます。
そこから私の美容師人生が始まり、ここからコンテストざんまいで上位に入るのは当たり前の世界へ
目標があるからこそ、結果がついてくる経験をへて今に至ります。

美容業界もその頃からすれば
2極化してきました。
私の選択は健康な髪をいつまでも美しくをモットーに16年ヘナを使ってます。
昨年、お店を改装してヘナ専門サロンとしてリニューアルしました。
もちろん、美容全般の仕事もしてますよ（笑）
ヘアカラーは完全に辞めました。
時代は健康思考に
また、自分の健康管理も試される中、
美容と健康、そこには「食」が切っても切れない関係があります。
食べたもので人は作られるように、髪の毛1本からでもたくさんのデータが取れるほどの大切な排出機関でもあります。
深くは書きませんが、また、機会があれば〜
今も尚、扉は開き続けてます。
こうやってエッセイを書かせていただくたびに気づきをたくさんいただいております。
感謝でいっぱいです。

Message of the Week
Hi, I'm Yuka Ozeki, a hairstylist.
It's already 30 years since I jumped into the world of cosmetology. After high school, I studied at beauty college in Osaka and found a job there; it was my "age of training". I practiced, practiced and practiced day after day. It was indeed one of my the hardest days of my life. No time to play around at all and I am sure those days have made what I am today.
When the first winter came after I got my job, I went to London to join the Hairdressing Course at Vidal Sassoon Academy; actually it was my first trip abroad! I was blessed with wonderful opportunities to cut local people's hair. Though I was not very fluent in English, my customers were always so kind and talked to me slowly and clearly; I am now happily remembering those days!
My days in London were the very start of my life as a hairstylist. After coming home, my competition days began; I participated in a lot of contests and got top prizes one after another. My goals always motivated me to work hard, which brought me satisfactory results.
These days, beauty salons have been polarized into two directions: hair dye or henna. I chose the latter: in order to restore the natural beauty of my customers’ hair, I have been using henna for 16 years. Last year, I had my salon refurbished and re-started as the henna hair salon. Of course, not only henna treatment, I am offering beauty care and styling in general, but I totally quitted hair dye.
Now people are more and more careful about their health: our beauty and health are closely connected with our diet. We are what we eat and even a single hair can give us a lot of information about our health. Maybe I will write more about this topic when I get a chance.
In this way, I continue to open my doors to my future.
